A Monotype is a single impression on paper.

A plexiglass surface is inked in a painterly manner with a variety of tools, brushes, rags, rollers, fingers, etc. Wet paper is then positioned on top of the inked plexiglass surface and run through the etching press.

When lifting up the paper, revealing the artwork’s unique blending of texture and color from being under extreme pressure, it is magic and a surprise every time!

Yielding only one print, this technique is special in that it cannot produce multiple prints, but rather one “ghost”, and only sometimes…..
